Earlier this fall, “The CW confirmed it will create a series adapted from Candace Bushnell’s young-adult novel, ‘The Carrie Diaries.’” While fans eagerly await to see who will play a young Carrie Bradshaw, InStyle.com got some celebrities to “play casting director and pick their favorite budding stars for the small-screen series.” The book takes place before Charlotte and Miranda come into Carrie’s life, so the question is who will play a younger Carrie and Samantha? Olivia Wilde goes with Emma Roberts for Samantha, saying “I think she'd be interesting. I don't know any of the young people, though. I've got to get to know the younger crew.” (Clearly, she would make a better Charlotte.) Selma Blair goes trick-question style and picks Chloe Moretz as a ingenue Charlotte, explaining, “I'd like Chloe to dye her hair dark and play Kristin Davis; character. But Charlotte’s not in the book.” Sarah Hyland plugs herself as Carrie, and Tiffani Thiessen picks Gossip Girl Blake Lively for the part. Sound like these ladies should keep their day jobs as wonderfully talented actresses.
